This study regulation outlines the philosophy program as part of the teacher training track for high school educators. Its purpose is to provide both subject-specific and teaching-focused training as a foundation for future work as a philosophy teacher. The main goals of the first phase of teacher training in philosophy for high schools are:

  • A) Building a strong foundation in philosophy as a discipline, including:
    - Solid knowledge of the historical and systematic principles of philosophy;
    - In-depth understanding and familiarity with modern literature in self-chosen areas of specialization.
  • B) Developing teaching-specific skills in philosophy, including:
    - Understanding and evaluating different ways philosophy can be presented in the classroom;
    - Learning effective methods and practices for teaching philosophy.
  • C) Preparing students to teach philosophy in schools, which involves, in addition to the knowledge and skills mentioned in A) and B):
    - Gaining an overview of philosophy’s connections to other fields of study;
    - Understanding the role of philosophy in society, in schools, and its contribution to general education;
    - Exploring how contemporary philosophy shapes a modern worldview.

Application Process and Admissions

This degree program has restricted admission (NC) within the university. Admission is determined through a process where 20% of the spots are allocated based on waiting time and 80% based on the average grade of your higher education entrance qualification. Waiting time refers to the period between completing your high school diploma and applying for the program (excluding any time spent studying).
