Further courses of study

Although a bachelor's degree in philosophy already qualifies graduates to enter employment, the primary course objective is to prepare students for the master's program in philosophy, which is research-oriented and provides a pathway to a doctorate.

Career opportunities

The degree program is designed to qualify students for professional careers and provides entry into the workforce. However, it is not a narrowly defined training program for a specific profession. Instead, the bachelor's program imparts skills that are relevant to a wide range of occupations: the ability to think analytically, solve problems creatively, argue rationally, and communicate complex issues in a clear and understandable way. These skills are particularly in demand in the following professional fields: journalism and public relations, literature and cultural management, adult education, media (theater, radio, television), politics, publishing, and business (management consulting). Since the degree program is complemented by a minor, there is also the opportunity to acquire interdisciplinary key skills that open up additional career opportunities.
