The master's program in physics at Goethe University Frankfurt is highly research-oriented and builds on solid fundamentals. Students deepen their understanding of quantitative methods and begin specializing in a branch of physics from their very first semester in the master’s program.

As part of their master’s thesis, students independently carry out research as members of a scientific research group, working on current research projects and building valuable national and international connections early on.

• You also have the option to earn a master’s degree with a focus on Computational Physics. This track includes required modules that must be completed, such as Numerical Mathematics (11 CP), High-Performance Computing (6 CP), internship (8 CP), and elective modules like Reinforcement Learning or Quantum Molecular Dynamics. The Computational Physics focus will be explicitly stated on your master’s certificate.
