At Goethe University Frankfurt, students have the opportunity to build on the bachelor's program in Languages and Cultures of Southeast Asia by pursuing a master's degree, such as the English-language master's program Southeast Asian Studies. This program is directly connected to the expertise acquired during the bachelor's studies and further deepens that knowledge. Another option is the interdisciplinary and also English-language master's program Modern East Asian Studies, which involves faculty from Frankfurt’s other Asia departments as well as experts in law, economics, and social sciences.

Career opportunities

The bachelor's program in Languages and Cultures of Southeast Asia provides students with a structured presentation of knowledge, relevance to practice (e.g., translation exercises, creating project work, or implementing an internship), and the development of a reflective approach to Southeast Asia-related sources. It equips students with the fundamentals of intercultural and comprehensive competence in the area of Southeast Asia.
