Housing or Citizen’s Allowance

Students or trainees can apply for accommodation allowance if they are not eligible for Federal Students Assistance Act (BAföG) or if their eligibility has expired. This subsidy helps cover rental costs and is provided by the accommodation allowance office in your city or municipality. You can conveniently submit your initial application for accommodation allowance online. For more information, click here.

Students may receive citizen’s allowance if they are on leave of absence, enrolled in part-time studies, or pursuing a doctorate. In all other cases, citizen’s allowance for students is granted only under specific legal statutory conditions. For more information, click here.

Part-Time Jobs

A job board for part-time positions is available on the website of the Frankfurt am Main Student Services.

Students pursuing their first or an additional career-qualifying university degree can work part-time as student assistants. For example, they contribute to research and teaching services and lead tutorials. Goethe University regularly publishes job postings for student assistant positions.
