Goethe University's Senate

Goethe University's Senate is one of the four organs of the university foundation under public law – alongside the Executive Board, the University Council and the Board of Trustees.

All university status groups are represented in the Senate – from professors and students, to mid-level faculty, and administrative-technical staff. They bring key topics for the university to discussion within the framework of functional self-government and have a voice in many fundamental matters.

The "Extended Senate" (main members and deputies) plays a key role in the selection of the president and vice presidents.

Meetings / Agendas

University members can find an overview of Senate meetings and agendas here. They have the option to participate in the university-wide Senate meetings either on-site or via livestream.

Executive Board's Written Communication on Senate Meetings

The Executive Board's written communications for each Senate meeting provide senators with a brief overview of current topics ahead of the meeting and, when applicable, address submitted inquiries.
