Interdisciplinary Research Profile

Goethe University has six interdisciplinary profile areas aimed at building bridges between individual disciplines in order to pool research, infrastructure, and partnerships. By bringing together diverse areas of expertise, they open up opportunities to develop innovative solutions to current and future challenges.

Faculty 08 is part of two of the six profile areas:

Orders & Transformations

The “Orders & Transformations” profile area analyzes social orders and the upheavals that arise when existing structures no longer keep pace with changing circumstances.

Universality & Diversity

The “Universality & Diversity” profile area addresses the culturally, socially, and politically pressing question of how to constructively deal with religious, cultural, and linguistic diversity and the opportunities and conflicts associated with it.

Independent Research Institutions

With the Fritz Bauer Institute and the Frobenius Institute for Research in Cultural Anthropology, two renowned institutions are affiliated with the faculty as legally independent research institutions.
