Pathways Abroad

Would you like to go abroad during or right after your studies? Whether you are planning a semester abroad, an internship or a research stay, here you will find information on a variety of opportunities, helpful tips for preparing and carrying out your stay abroad, as well as experience reports.

A semester abroad gives you the opportunity to meet new people, learn a new language and get to know a different academic system.Credits earned abroad can be transferred to your degree program at Goethe University in consultation with the Student Advisory Service.

You have four different options to do a semester (or year) abroad

Internships and Research

Practice module M09a/b in the bachelor's program and the research module M04a/b in the master's program require you to plan and carry out your own project. This project can take the form of an internship or research.

You can, for instance, do an internship through ERASMUS+.

You would like to do a semester abroad or internship at our department? Here you will find information on our degree programmes. The Global Office will be happy to assist you.

Are you an international academic interested in scholarly dialogue with our staff members? We regularly invite international researchers to present their ongoing research or recent findings in various fields of anthropology in one of our department's lecture series. We also invite guest scholars to our department, encourage joint research projects with our staff members, or establish institutional cooperation with faculties and departments that share our fields of interest and approach to anthropology. For further information on international cooperation please have a look at our list of list of research expertises at the department and contact our academic staff in line with your research interests.
