This program provides the theoretical and practical foundations needed for aspiring teachers aiming to work in middle and high schools, specializing in computer science. By the end of the program, graduates will have the knowledge, skills, and methods required for effective teaching in computer science at the secondary level. Specifically, they will gain:

  • A solid understanding of the fundamental principles of computer science relevant to teaching. 
  • Insights into didactic frameworks and teaching techniques from a subject-specific perspective.  
  • A well-rounded and critically reflective view of computer science as an integral part of our culture.  
  • Knowledge of the history and current trends in school-level computer science, as well as its connections to other subjects.  
  • An understanding of the role of computer science in education, its contribution to general knowledge, and its importance in today’s world.  
  • Familiarity with concepts in media education.  
  • The ability to thoughtfully integrate information and communication technologies, textbooks, and other media into teaching and learning processes.
