Teaching at Secondary Schools (L2)
Important information at a glance
The study of art aims to prepare students for scientifically and artistically grounded art education practices in teaching at middle schools and junior high schools. Students will develop creative skills in working with a wide range of artistic and cultural media, gain authentic experiences with art, and cultivate their own unique ways of perceiving and expressing ideas. The teaching principle of aesthetic learning equips them to lead interdisciplinary learning situations as well as subject-specific lessons. Through academically and methodologically reflective studies in art education, students acquire the foundation for professional art teaching. The academic, educational, and practical components of the program align with the competencies outlined in § 1 of the Hessian Teacher Training Act Implementation Regulation (HLbG-UVO). The academic, practical, and educational course offerings are closely interconnected.
