The goal of the physics program is to equip students with both subject-specific expertise and teaching skills necessary to teach physics at middle and high schools. Additionally, future educators should be prepared to contribute to the development of new curricula. Graduates of the L2/L5 program, in particular, are expected to be able to teach students the fundamental principles of physics, the physical description of nature, and its most significant findings.

  • Classroom instruction should highlight how physics provides the foundation for understanding many natural phenomena and plays a key role in all natural sciences, medicine, and technology.
  • Students should also be able to recognize and evaluate the importance of physics research and its societal impacts through practical applications.
  • Graduates should aim to teach physics in a way that sparks curiosity about scientific questions and inspires joy in discovering new insights.
