Application Process and Admissions

This degree program has restricted admission within the university (NC). Admission is determined through a process where 20% of spots are allocated based on waiting time and 80% based on the average grade of your higher education entrance qualification. Waiting time refers to the period between completing your high school diploma and applying for the program (excluding any time spent studying).

An aptitude test is required for this degree program. If you choose a program or subject that requires an aptitude test, you’ll need to register for it directly with the relevant institute.

To enroll, you’ll need one of the following:

  • A passed aptitude test in English (Entrance Test)

Or alternatively:

  • An average of 11 or more points in English on your high school diploma. This average is calculated using the grades from your semester reports during the qualification phase and the grade achieved in the English accelerated course on your final exams. The diploma must be no older than two years.

Or alternatively:

  • Proof of passing an English language test equivalent to the Entrance Test (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge First). Information about language tests generally considered equivalent to the IEAS test can be found on the IEAS website.

One of these language certificates must first be recognized and certified by the Institute for English and American Studies (IEAS).

The proof of passing the language test must be no older than two years at the time of application. Exceptions may be granted by the IEAS management in justified cases.

The IEAS will issue a letter confirming a B2 level of English proficiency. This letter must be submitted along with your application documents to the Registrar’s Office, either during the application process or at the latest during enrollment. Enrollment in other degree programs required for your final degree remains unaffected by this process.

If you pass the aptitude test, you’ll receive confirmation from the relevant department.

You can apply easily through the Goethe University application portal within the specified application period. The portal will inform you about any required documents during the online application process.
