Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology

The research group Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience of Prof. Dr. Amparo Acker-Palmer investigates the interplay between the nervous and vascular systems during brain development, focusing on how neurons, glia cells, and blood vessels communicate to shape the developing central nervous system.

Using a combination of state-of-the-art imaging techniques—including expansion microscopy, tissue clearing, and 3D reconstruction— the laboratory analyzes these interactions at different developmental stages, with a current emphasis on cerebellar folding and structural formation.
