At the MIND-CHILD Laboratory, based at Goethe University Frankfurt, we are dedicated to understanding and improving mental health outcomes in children. Our interdisciplinary team combines neuroscience, psychology, and data science to explore how early brain and behavioral markers can predict later mental health challenges.

Research Overview

Our research focuses on identifying neurophysiological mechanisms—such as the functioning of the locus coeruleus-norepinephrine (LC-NE) system—that influence how children respond to stress and sensory input. Using innovative tools like pupillometry, EEG, and machine learning, we aim to detect early signs of mental health risks, particularly in neurodiverse populations

Requirements

Backgrounds in psychology, medicine, and computer science are preferred. We recommend some skills in scientific programming or/and experience in working with children.


A minimum of 3 months research visit.
