The degree program includes coursework in educational sciences, two special education focus areas—"Learning Support," "Intellectual Development Support," and "Emotional and Social Development Support"—as well as one teaching subject of your choice from Biology, Chemistry, German, English, Geography, Protestant Religion, History, Computer Science, Islamic Religion, Catholic Religion, Art, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Political Science and Economics, or Physical Education. The standard period of study, including the First State Examination, is four and a half years.


L5 - Teacher Training in Special Education
The Teacher Training program for Special Education (L5) prepares students to teach at special education schools or work in counseling and support centers. With a focus on inclusion, special education teachers also play a key role in regular schools. The degree program concludes with the First State Examination.
