Important information at a glance
The Art Education program prepares students to engage in both scholarly and artistic approaches to art pedagogy in teaching and education at the elementary school level. Throughout the program, students develop creative skills for working with a wide range of artistic and cultural media, gain authentic experiences in art, and cultivate their own unique ways of perceiving and expressing ideas. The teaching principle of aesthetic learning equips them to lead interdisciplinary learning activities as well as specialized art classes. Through academically and methodologically reflective studies in art education, students build a solid foundation for professional art pedagogy. The program also incorporates the skills gained in the compulsory module "Aesthetic Education" and can be further enriched by optional school-based practical studies in art.
Detailed information about the teacher education programs can be found on the LeOn (Teaching Online) information platform of the Academy for Educational Research and Teacher Education (ABL).
