Alexandra Fuchs is a research assistant in the current ELLVIS project at Goethe University (project area "internationalisation") and a PhD candidate under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Yonson Ahn

She holds a master's degree in Korean Studies for completing the Integrated Korean Studies master programme at the Institute of Korean Studies, Free University of Berlin. During her master studies she received a scholarship as an MA Fellow at the newly established Korea-Europe Center at IKS, FU Berlin. As part of her fellowship, she was involved in the preparation of a Korea-Expert-Survey, the organization of a European-wide creative competition and assisted with film screenings and lectures held at the institute. Previously, she completed her B.A. in Korean Studies also at FU Berlin, including a year-long exchange programme at Seoul National University.

Her research interests include immigration and multiculturalism policies in South Korea, experiences of international students studying in South Korea, experiences of biracial Koreans living in South Korea, inter-Korean relations, the representation of North Korea and North Koreans in South Korean media, international student mobility in Asia, and internationalisation and digitilisation of higher education.
