Frank Schulze-Engler (* 1957)

  • studied English Studies, History and Political Science at the Universities Freiburg i.Br. and Frankfurt am Main
  • 1990: PhD in English in the Faculty of Modern Languages;
  • 2001: Habilitation in English Studies in the Faculty of Modern Languages;
  • 2002–2023: Professor of New Anglophone Literatures and Cultures at the Institute of English and American Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt;
  • 2005-2009: President of the Association for the Study of New Anglophone Literatures (GNEL/ASNEL);
  • 2012–2019: Co-Leader of the BMBF Project “Africa's Asian Options" (AFRASO);
  • 2019–2022: Dean of the Faculty of Modern Languages;
  • 2023: Retired.
