Max José Dreysse
Passos De Carvalho is a PhD candidate and researcher in the American Studies
Department. He got his B.A. at Gutenberg University Mainz, and his M.A. at
Goethe University Frankfurt.
He is editor and
frequent contributor to adaptinglovecraft.com, an online blog wrestling with
all things H.P. Lovecraft. In the same vein he coedited The Medial
Afterlives of H.P. Lovecraft together with Tim Lanzendörfer.
His PhD research is part of the DfG-funded project Spiel|Erfahrung:
Kunst und (Post-)Kritik in Transmedialen Kontexten zwischen Spielen und
Literatur. In it, he investigates the aesthetics of games (esp.
video games), particularly as they relate to the notions of art and
commodity.
