About
Olivia Smith completed her Bachelor's in English Studies at Trinity College Dublin in her home country, Ireland, and subsequently achieved her Master's degree in Anglophone Literatures, Cultures and Media at Goethe University Frankfurt.
Prior to joining the Sprachpraxis full time, she worked part time as both a Research Assistant and an instructor in the IEAS department.
Research Interests
Her research interests include Irish literature, Gothic fiction, gender studies and memory studies. In her Master's thesis, titled '“If there ever is gonna be healing, there has to be remembering":
Representing and Remembering the Irish Famine (1845-1852) in Contemporary Children's Literature', she explored the intersection between memory, Irish identity and children's literature.
She is also a member of the International Association for the Study of Irish Literatures (IASIL).
