Gianluca Calio (he/him/his) is a research assistant at the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, after graduating in 2022 from the University of Cologne with a thesis on the concept of Indigenous absence in contemporary Australian literature. He is currently pursuing a PhD in the field of contemporary Anglophone literature, specifically exploring the concept of narrative of absence in a Canadian context. Additionally, he is part of the Editorial Team of Anglistik: International Journal of English Studies and a member of the Association for Anglophone
Postcolonial Studies (GAPS), the German Association for Australian Studies (GASt), and the Association for Canadian Studies (GKS).
