Interdisciplinary Center for Neuroscience Frankfurt

The Interdisciplinary Center for Neuroscience Frankfurt (ICNF) unites over 60 research groups across Goethe University and leading research institutes in Frankfurt, creating a vibrant hub for cutting-edge neuroscience. Its members come from the Faculties of Medicine, Biological Sciences, Psychology and Sport Science, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mathematics, and Physics, and collaborate closely with the Max Planck Institutes for Brain Research, Biophysics, and Empirical Aesthetics, the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS), and the Ernst Strüngmann Institute (ESI).

As part of the Goethe Research Experience Program (GREP) international students can join ongoing laboratory projects within this network, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as:

  • Molecular and cellular neuroscience
  • Cognitive and computational neuroscience
  • Translational and clinical neuroscience
  • Neurophysiology, neuroimaging, and behavior

Requirements

The ICNF welcomes advanced Master's students from GREP partner universities to partake in ongoing laboratory courses of the M.Sc. Interdisciplinary Neuroscience.
