Orientation Events at the IEAS

First-year students can find out everything about studying at the Institute of English and American Studies (IEAS) at the orientation just before the semester starts. Orientation provides an overview of the study programme and the most important study affairs.

The orientation will take place on 
Tuesday, April 7th from 12 pm to 2 pm in room NG 701. 

Additionally we will inform you via presentation
of the structure of the BA American Studies and BA English Studies programs and how to successfully start your first term.


As part of the IEAS support system, the Department of Foreign Language Education and Research offers an orientation/ induction meeting for new TEFL students who are about to start their teaching degree English and want to learn more about their first semester at Goethe-University

The orientation event is aimed at students in the BA English Studies, BA American Studies, and English teaching programs who are already in their 2nd or 3rd semester.

Having had the opportunity to become better acquainted with the study program and the structures of the institute in the first semester, this orientation event is intended to help you refresh your knowledge about examination regulations and studying at the IEAS in general.

The orientation will take place on
Monday, July 28th 2025, from 2 pm to 4 pm, Zoom.
