The Institute for African Studies, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main, is delighted to announce that the 24. Afrikanist*innentag will take place from Thursday 1st July to Saturday 3rd July 2021. The conference will take place entirely online

Thank you to everyone for their submissions. We are pleased to publish a list of accepted speakers/presentations. We kindly ask that authors double check that everything is in order and let us know if there are any issues.

The Call for Papers has been extended until 8th March 2021. Please submit your abstracts to one of the three panels, the general session, or the poster session via https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=afra2021
Information on resubmissions from AFRA2020 to AFRA2021
Alle bereits im Vorjahr angenommenen Vorträge und Poster sind automatisch für AFRA2021 akzeptiert. Dazu bitten wir die Vortragenden ihre Einreichung erneut via Easychair hochzuladen und dabei die entsprechenden Felder im Easychair-Formular anzukreuzen. Alternativ
können Sie uns Ihren Teilnahmewunsch auch per Mail an afra2021@easychair.org mitteilen.
Papers accepted for AFRA2020 are automatically accepted for AFRA2021. Presenters are requested to resubmit their abstract via Easychair, ticking the appropriate box in the submission form indicating that it is a resubmission. Alternatively, please send an email expressing your interest in participating: afra2021@easychair.org.

The Call for Papers for 24. Afrikanist*innentag, 1-3 July 2021 will be made in the coming days. We would like to inform presenters who were included in the original AFRA2020 programme that your presentations are automatically accepted to AFRA2021. More information soon!
AFRA2020 News Update: Coronavirus (19.03.2020)
Wir bedauern sehr, Ihnen mitteilen zu müssen, dass gemäß der globalen Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung der weiteren Verbreitung des Coronavirus der 24. Afrikanistentag nicht wie geplant im Mai diesen Jahres stattfinden kann, sondern auf das Jahr 2021 verschoben wird.

We regret to announce that due to measures being enacted around the world to prevent the further spread of the Corona virus, the 24th Afrikanistentag will not be able to take place as planned and will instead be postponed until 2021.
