Drittmittelbewilligung für das Projekt "Strengthening the Korean Studies Education Capacity through the Glocalization of Frankfurt Korean Studies "
Im Rahmen des Seed Program for Korean Studies, welches gemeinsam vom Ministerium für Bildung der Republik Korea und der Academy of Korean Studies finanziert wird, hat die Goethe-Universität die Zusage für das zweite Projekt "Strengthening the Korean Studies Education Capacity through the Glocalization of Frankfurt Korean Studies" erhalten.
Vorerst ist dieses Forschungsprojekt „Korea and the global society: Engagement and reciprocity” für eine Dauer von drei Jahren (Juni 2018-Mai 2021) angesetzt. Die von südkoreanischer Seite zur Verfügung gestellten Mittel werden unter anderem auf zwei zusätzliche Halbtagsstellen für Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter/innen verwendet werden.
Neben dem Zugewinn für die Lehre durch angestrebte Erweiterungen und Vertiefungen des Lehrangebots, unter anderem im Bereich E-Learning und Sprachkurse, wird das Projekt auch dazu beitragen, das Profil der Frankfurter Koreastudien innerhalb Deutschlands und Europas zu stärken. Des Weiteren wird eine engere Vernetzung der Koreastudien mit nichtwissenschaftlichen und wissenschaftlichen Einrichtungen sowohl im Rhein-Main-Gebiet als auch international angestrebt. Ferner sollen Studenten von den angestrebten Erweiterungen der internationalen Kooperationen, etwa in Form von Austauschprogrammen und Konferenzen, profitieren.
Third-party funding for the project "Strengthening the Korean Studies Education Capacity through the Glocalization of Frankfurt Korean Studies"
As part of the Seed Program for Korean Studies, funded jointly by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and the Academy of Korean Studies, the Goethe University has been approved for the second project titled "Strengthening the Korean Studies Education Capacity through the Glocalization of Frankfurt Korean Studies."
For the time being, the research project "Korea and the Global Society: Engagement and Reciprocity" is set for a period of three years (June 2018-May 2021). The funds from South Korea will be used, among other things, for two additional part-time posts for researchers.
In addition to the growth and diversification of our teaching content through the planned expansion and deepening of the curriculum, especially in the fields of e-learning and language courses, the project will also help to strengthen the profile of Frankfurt Korean Studies within Germany and Europe. Furthermore, another aim is closer networking of Korean Studies within and beyond academia in the Rhine-Main area as well as internationally. Additionally, students are expected to benefit from the expansion of international cooperation, such as in the form of exchange programs and conferences.
