Background Studies
There are four conceptual background studies will be developed each of wich will shed light on the issue of protecting the weak. The four conceptual studies will be written as dialogues between the disciplines involved: sinology/cultural studies (Iwo Amelung), law (Moritz Baelz), economics/management (Cornelia Storz), and political science (Heike Holbig).
- Processes and mechanisms of appropriation (Iwo Amelung & Cornelia Storz)
- Rights discourses in historical perspective (Moritz Bälz & Iwo Amelung)
- Shifting relations between state and social actors (Heike Holbig & Moritz Baelz)
- The political economy of protecting the weak and related processes of institutional change (Cornelia Storz & Heike Holbig)
