The 16th International Conference on the History of Science in East Asia (16th ICHSEA) will take place in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 21st-25th August 2023. It is organised under the auspices of Goethe-University, Frankfurt am Main, on behalf of the International Society for the History of East Asian Science, Technology and Medicine (ISHEASTM).
The conference is the latest in a series of major international meetings that have taken place in Europe, East Asia and America since 1990. It will bring together researchers from all over the world to present and discuss their latest research relevant to the history of science, technology and medicine in East Asia from antiquity up to the present day.
Lunch and Coffee Breaks - Dinner During the conference we will provide you with coffee and refreshments during the coffee-breaks without charge. Since the conference will take place in buildings, which are open to the university public, please make sure that you wear your conference name card all the time so that the members of the reception team are able to identify you as conference participant.
We also will provide lunch on all four days you will be in Frankfurt without charge. Lunch is served in the university canteen (“Mensa" in German). This is the place marked in red on the Campus Guide Map. In the canteen you will have a choice of different dishes (including vegetarian dishes) – it works like a self-serving restaurant. When you have made your choices and put them on your tray (don't forget to take cutlery too) you proceed to the cashier show your conference name card and you are done.When you have finished lunch, please be so kind and place your tray on the conveyor belt.

Welcome reception and Farewell dinner are part of the programm and free of charge.
The Welcome reception on Monday at 18.00 will take place in the Casino building. The Farewell dinner on Friday at 18:00 will be organized in the SKW building.
